Nippson low-viscosity PVA with low hydrolysis
Nippson L grades are polyvinyl alcohols with a low degree of hydrolysis. Despite this, they are completely water-soluble. At 70-80 mol% hydrolysis, viscosity in a 4% aqueous solution ranges from 5 mPas to 8 mPas. These products are very effective as protective colloids in PVC suspension polymerisation.
Improved properties for demanding PVC
Nippson L grades are polyvinyl alcohols with a very low degree of hydrolysis, so they dissolve completely in water. Nippson L grades are therefore excellent primary suspending agents in vinyl chloride suspension polymerization. These PVA products regulate grain formation during production, resulting in improved PVC properties such as more uniform structure, morphology and particle size distribution.
Optimal viscosity for more efficient processes
Another advantage of Nippson L grades is their particularly low viscosity. With 70-80 mol% hydrolysis, the viscosity of these Nippson polymers ranges from 5 mPas to 8 mPas (measured in a 4% aqueous solution). These PVA polymers are easy to remove, which helps reduce production waste and makes production processes more efficient. For use as a secondary dispersing agent, Nippson offers PVC producers Nippson L grades.
Use Nippson L grades to optimize the quality and efficiency of PVC production – and benefit from PVA polymers that set global standards
